Skepta x Visions x ‘Man’ video

I was photographing Bring Me The Horizon’s full orchestral show at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust when Skepta posted this tweet…

Visions is a guest list only so I text my girl to get us on and that we were going to head straight to the show after Bring Me The Horizon had finished.  I guess this just epitomises the brilliance of music photography sometimes.  You go from an Access All Areas show at the Royal Albert Hall to trying to sneak in your camera to a underground club within an hour.

We turned up 5 minutes before the guest list closed at 1am and went straight to the barrier where Skepta would be performing at some point from the moment we arrived to 6am.  There were no details on timings anywhere so we just had to get there for 1am and hold tight.

Luckily within the hour Skepta turned up with Maximum, Jammer, Shorty, Lethal Bizzle, Chip and casually walked through the tiny club to the back room of Visions where they stayed for a short while and shot clips for the video.  Then the madness ensued with Bizzle & Jammer first jumping on the mic, a few tunes whilst Skepta spraying the front row (and my camera) with a bottle of champagne before he took over the mic and played “It Ain’t Safe” & “Man”.  It was one of the sweatiest, most crushing and overall most difficult shows to shoot I’ve ever shot but loved every second of it.  They quickly exited and after briefly speaking to Shorty & Maximum we left Dalston and headed back home.

The NME ran a couple of the photos in the magazine from the night the following week.  See below for the photographs from the night:
